The Jacksonville Fire & Rescue Department is home to the nation’s first Fire Department run Hazardous Materials Response Team. Currently, the JFRD HAZMAT team calls two stations home. Station 7, which is located on the city’s Northwest side, responds to all incidents North & West of the St. Johns River. Located on the Southside, Station 21 responds to HAZMAT incidents south and east of the St. Johns. This site is dedicated to the brave men who started HAZMAT response 30 years ago as well as those men and women who continue to stand the watch today.
